16 July 2018A very rustic jam tart that is delicious.
Ingredients:
- 300g plain flour
- 100g brown sugar
- 150g butter
- 2 eggs
- pinch of salt
- 1 lemon
- half a packet (7g) of cake yeast
- a jar of jam (preferably salvin’s rhubarb and apple jam)
- 3 apples
- liquid honey
Preparation:
- Put the flour, lemon rind, sugar, pinch of salt and yeast into a bowl.
- Add the softened butter and egg yolks
- Mix by hand until the mixture comes together
- Push (with your fingers) the mixture into a buttered tray making sure to make thick edges
- Cover with the jam
- Cover with thin slices of apple or almonds.
- Cover with a thin layer of honey
- Cook at 180°C for 30/40 minutes until browned.
